Description

Care Dorset, a leading provider of adult care services, is looking for a Head of People to join their dynamic team. Established in October 2022 by Dorset Council, Care Dorset provides a range of services, including Residential care, Day Opportunities, Reablement services, and Supported Living. This role, based in a hybrid working arrangement, will play a pivotal part in shaping a progressive and inclusive organisational culture that ensures the delivery of exceptional care and support.

The Head of People will be responsible for developing and implementing People Strategies that align with the organisation's mission and drive workforce effectiveness. Working closely with executive colleagues, the Head of People will provide leadership in all aspects of Human Resources, from policy development to talent management, ensuring that Care Dorset is supported by an HR function that delivers high-quality, customer-focused services. This role is essential in driving a culture of excellence, supporting the development of leadership capabilities, and promoting employee engagement and wellbeing across the organisation.

You will lead the development and execution of comprehensive HR strategies that underpin Care Dorset's operational goals, including pay and reward systems, leadership development programmes, and succession planning. You will take the lead in embedding HR business partnering arrangements, ensuring line management ownership for people management activities, and driving a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Your leadership will empower your team to excel, promoting a culture where each team member feels valued and motivated to contribute to Care Dorset's shared objectives.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in senior HR roles, with a proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organisational goals. You should hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience and be a member of CIPD (MCIPD/FCIPD). You will bring a deep understanding of employment legislation and HR practices, with a particular focus on employee relations and complex case management. Your ability to lead change, manage budgets, and influence at all levels will be key to your success. Knowledge of the social care sector and experience in partnership working with trade unions and professional associations will be advantageous.

In return, Care Dorset offers a supportive environment where you can grow and make a real impact. If you are a confident, self-aware individual with a passion for developing people and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams, we would love to hear from you. Join us in delivering outstanding care and making a difference in the lives of those we support.
